Reins of the Grand Expedition Yak

The Grand Expedition Yak is the only mount in WoW that has a Transmogrification NPC. It also has a repair vendor that sells food, water, and supplies, making it objectively superior to the Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth.

Blizzard introduced this valuable mount with the launch of Mists of Pandaria in September 2012.

Buying the Grand Expedition Yak

Players can purchase this mount from Uncle Bigpocket, a vendor located at The Grummle Bazaar in Kun-Lai Summit.

Uncle Bigpocket can be found by the herd of yaks at the camp’s southeastern entrance.

Cost

The Grand Expedition Yak costs a whopping 120,000 gold, so you’ll probably need to farm some gold before heading to Kun-Lai Summit.

Discounts

Normally, players can raise their reputation with a faction to purchase its mount(s) at a cheaper price. Unfortunately, Uncle Bigpocket does not belong to a faction, so players cannot benefit from any reputation discounts.

Interestingly enough, Goblins’ Best Deals Anywhere racial also does not apply to the Reins of the Grand Expedition Yak’s price.
