Like most RPGs, World of Warcraft allows players to choose between walking and running.
By default, your character will run instead of walk.
How to Switch Between Running and Walking
To switch between running and walking,
1. Press the “/” button on your keyboard’s numpad.
2. If that doesn’t work or your keyboard doesn’t have a numpad, click the Game Menu button in the bottom-right corner.
3. Click the “Key Bindings” button.
4. In the left-hand menu, ensure “Movement Keys” has been selected.
5. Find the “Toggle Run/Walk” command and any keys bound to it.
6. If you’d like, change the key(s) bound to this command.
7. Click the “Okay” button.
8. Use your new key bindings (or preexisting ones) to switch between running and walking.
FAQs
Can You Auto Run/Walk in WoW?
By default, pressing the Num Lock key will make your character auto run/walk.
If that doesn’t work,
1. Return to the “Movement Keys” section of the Key Bindings window from above.
2. Find the “Toggle Autorun” command and any keys that have been bound to it.
3. If necessary, change the key(s) bound to that command.
4. Use the new key bindings (or preexisting ones) to make your character auto run or auto walk.
Can You Sprint in WoW?
Although Rogues are technically the only class that have the Sprint ability, other classes can use items, abilities, and talents to move faster than the default run speed of 100%.
To make your character run faster,
- Use a class ability like Sprint or Death’s Advance.
- Use a talent like Wraith Walk.
- Ride one of your mounts.
- Use a consumable like a Swiftness Potion.
- Equip gear with the Speed stat.
