How to Change Dungeon Difficulty in WoW

Most dungeons in WoW allow players to choose a difficulty setting that supports their playstyle and loot needs.

How to Change Dungeon Difficulty to Normal, Heroic, or Mythic

While outside of the dungeon,

1. Right-click your character portrait.

2. Mouse over the “Dungeon Difficulty” option.

3. Click the “Normal”, “Heroic”, or “Mythic” option.

How to Change Dungeon Difficulty to Mythic+

To change a dungeon’s difficulty to Mythic+, someone in your party must have a Mythic+ Keystone specific to that dungeon.

1. Set the Dungeon Difficulty to Mythic.

2. Enter the dungeon.

3. Find the Font of Power inside of the dungeon (next to the entrance).

4. Have the player with the proper Mythic+ Keystone right-click the Font of Power and insert their Keystone.

5. Click the red “Activate” button.

Can You Change the Difficulty of a Dungeon You’re In?

If you’re inside a Mythic dungeon, you can change its difficulty to Mythic+.

In all other cases, you must leave the dungeon before changing its difficulty.
